Description
15 Cumberland Street is a house located at the end of a planned terrace, built around 1830. It features a stucco exterior with a roof that is hidden behind a parapet, which has a simple moulded entablature. There is a brick stack on the left side of the building. The house has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a three-bay front, where the central bay is wider than the others.
The upper floors are adorned with giant pilasters flanking the bays. The central bay has original tripartite hornless sash windows, while the first-floor sash window is set under a segmental arch. The flanking bays contain round-arched niches with recessed aprons, and there are tall blind window openings with relief aprons above them. The ground floor features a plinth and channelled rustication, with a doorway on the left, a 20th-century shop window in the central bay, and a blind window on the right.
The interior has not been inspected but may hold interest. This house is part of a notable group of early 19th-century housing.
