Description

Nos. 4 and 5 Theatre Ope is a terrace of two pairs of houses, likely built as married quarters for barracks, dating from the mid to late 19th century. The houses are constructed from Plymouth limestone and feature an asbestos slate roof with sprocketed eaves and tall rendered axial stacks. The buildings have a shallow-depth plan and stand two storeys high, with symmetrical five-window fronts and central doorways. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes, and the doorways have overlights and four-panel doors. The terrace is primarily noted for its complete frontage, which is prominently located near a notable group of 19th-century buildings. The interior has not been inspected.
