Description

White Cottage is a house, likely dating to the early 19th century with a possible earlier core, and having undergone 20th-century alterations. The exterior is rendered rubble with a pantiled roof and gable stacks. It is two storeys high with five windows, all featuring 16-pane sashes in exposed boxes, although some have been replaced with 20th-century pivoted versions. A central, glazed porch and door have been added in the 20th century. At the rear, the roof extends over a single-storey addition, featuring a splayed wall angle to the left. Further 20th-century additions include a two-light casement with glazing bars, another with a pair of lights, an oven projection, and a section slightly set back with a four-light casement, a small two-pane light, a door, and a rooflight. A final single-storey addition to the right features three two-light casements. A former pigsty, with waney-edged boarding and a single light, is attached at an angle to the right. The rear also includes a two-light casement to the side. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
