Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 17th century, possibly incorporating an earlier building, with 19th and 20th-century alterations. The structure is built of rubble, rendered on the front and whitewashed at the rear, and features a double Roman tiled roof with stone ridge and gable stacks. Originally designed with a through passage plan, the interior is now open.

The building has two storeys and four windows. The first floor has all 20th-century two-light casements, while the ground floor includes three 20th-century two-light casements and one four-light casement. The third bay from the left features a 20th-century gabled and glazed porch, located to the left of the ridge stack, with a single-storey wing attached to the front right that has a three-light casement and a very small single light, possibly a former dairy.

On the right return, the gable end of the wing has a 20th-century door and a nine-pane light above, with a small two-pane light to the right. The rear of the wing has two buttresses and a 20th-century two-light casement. The left return showcases a large weathered external stack, with an eight-pane light at the ground floor left and a six-pane light above.

The rear features a single-storey addition to the left with a 20th-century three-light casement, an open sheltered area on wooden piers, and a glazed lean-to along the ground floor. To the left, there is a four-light casement with ovolo mullions, and a wall built out below the stack, possibly for a former oven. The rear passage door has a heavy four-centred arched frame with a chamfer, and to the right is a 19th-century two-light casement, along with a small lean-to featuring a two-light casement. There are also three 20th-century two-light raking dormers.

The interior is not accessible, but the ridge stack retains a large fireplace at the ground floor, which may indicate other features of interest.
