Description

Halecat Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of stone rubble, with roughcast on the north-west and south-west sides, and features a slate roof. The north-east elevation has two storeys and consists of two bays. The windows, which are probably later additions, include 3- and 4-light wooden chamfered-mullioned windows in enlarged openings, complete with transoms and leaded glazing.

A late 20th-century porch has a swept gabled roof, leaded glazing, and an original 2-panel door set in a chamfered wooden frame. The gable-end stacks are present, with the one on the right being corbelled. To the left return, there is a large lean-to outshut that includes a late 20th-century gabled half-glazed porch, alongside a small-paned glazed door and window above to the left. The rear features a lean-to outshut with a large projecting lateral stack on the right. The right return has a ground floor small-paned casement, an oriel above with leaded glazing and a hipped roof, and an attic window with three lights and leaded glazing. The outshut has a 4-light transomed window. Inside, there is some fielded panelling, which is said to be from the 20th century, and a staircase with turned balusters.
