Description
Nether Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of stone rubble, mostly covered in roughcast, and has a slate roof. The south elevation was rebuilt in the 20th century and features two storeys with three bays and casement windows. There are large gable-end stacks. The north elevation includes a two-light wooden chamfered-mullioned window on the first floor and a raking buttress to the west of the north wing, which has outshuts under catslide roofs to the west. The east elevation has casement windows and entrances to the first bay and a single-storey third bay. The gable-end stack has a round shaft. Inside, there are stop-chamfered flat joists visible at the west end, and a stone stair leads to the first floor, which has a recess in the north-west angle. The first floor features two collar and tie beam trusses with cambered collars and ties, struts, and short kingposts with arch braces to the ridge piece, along with chamfered members and similar kingpost trusses against the gable walls. The north wing contains a full cruck truss.
