Description

Low Green Farmhouse is an 18th-century house located on Watery Lane in Upper Allithwaite. It is constructed of stone rubble with large quoins and features slate roofs. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows have dressed lintels and small-paned casements from the 20th century, which replaced similar casements from the 19th century. The entrance is segmental-headed, and there are gable-end stacks.

The right side of the house has small windows on the ground floor and attic, as well as a tall stair window. At the rear, there is a small two-storey gabled wing at the north-west angle, which was formerly an outbuilding and now has a 20th-century gable-end stack with a round shaft. To the left, there is a 20th-century single-storey lean-to extension. The windows on the first bay of both the ground floor and first floor have segmental arches, with a small window to the right of the first bay on the first floor. The lean-to extension has its own entrance. The left side features a ground floor window and an attic window, while the wing includes an entrance with a loading door above, which is now glazed.
