Description
Barrow Hollin is a house built in 1714, located on Upper Allithwaite Height Road. It is constructed of roughcast stone and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. There is a drip course above the ground floor, which includes a window with small-paned fixed glazing and a pivoted upper part in the first bay, and a casement window in the third bay. The first-floor windows also have small-paned fixed glazing with pivoted upper parts. The entrance is located in a large gabled porch that has a half-glazed panelled door. Gable-end stacks are present. The interior may include a plank and muntin partition. This house was built by the Society of Friends next to the meeting house, which is now known as Barrow Wife.
