Description
Yewtree Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to 1630, featuring a court cupboard from that year, along with later alterations and additions. The building is constructed of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. The east elevation consists of two storeys and six bays, with the sixth bay being lower. On the ground floor, there are two small casement windows in the first bay, while the fifth bay has a sashed window with glazing bars. The first floor features sashed windows with vertical glazing bars. A gabled porch leads to a glazed and panelled inner door. The farmhouse has a gable-end stack and two cross-axial stacks, one located at the break of the roof. The rear of the building includes two later outshuts with catslide roofs, one of which serves as a stair wing, and there is a slate-hung bay in between. The fenestration varies, and the slate-hung bay is believed to have once had a first-floor gallery, with a window featuring small-paned fixed glazing in the end bay. Inside, the farmhouse contains the court cupboard and a fireplace with a heck post, along with a later partition. The dog-leg stair has stick balusters.
