Description

Northgate Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century and mid 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof and featuring two brick gable stacks. The building has two storeys plus attics and consists of three bays, along with a lean-to addition on the east side.

The south front showcases a 19th-century flat-roofed rubble porch that includes a chamfered four-centred arched doorway with a half-glazed door. This doorway is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. To the right of the porch, there is a brick buttress with three setoffs and a French window. Above the porch, a central French window is flanked by two single glazing bar sashes, all of which have segmental heads. Additionally, there are two 20th-century hipped dormers above, featuring glazing bar casements. The interior has not been inspected.
