Description
Stanmore House is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of The Parade in Hugh Town. It is constructed from coursed granite blocks and features a half-hipped roof covered with late 20th-century interlocking tiles, along with a rendered end stack. The house has a double-depth plan with a central entrance hall and stands two storeys tall, with a three-window range on the first floor. The entrance is marked by a semi-circular arch with voussoirs above a mid-20th-century door that has a plain fanlight. The windows are 8/8-pane sashes with granite lintels, and there is a curved corner to the left (west) of the building. A mid-20th-century addition has been made to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
