Description
The Galley is a house with an attached shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed granite rubble and has a colourwashed render on the front. The roof is gabled and covered with slate, with rendered stacks at the ends. The building is two storeys high. The Galley, located on the left, features a one-window range with a 20th-century window above a late 19th-century tripartite shop window. This shop window has pilaster strips and a frieze with a cornice framing a central 20th-century door, which is flanked by two fixed casements with six lights each. The Galley Restaurant, on the right, is lower and has a symmetrical three-window range with unhorned 2/2-pane sashes and a recessed 20th-century door. The interior has no noted features of interest. The building is included for its group value.
