Description

Garrison Cottage, also known as Star Cottage, is an 18th-century house located in Hugh Town. It is constructed from squared and coursed granite blocks and features a slate roof that is half-hipped on the right side and hipped over an outshut on the left. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-window range on the first floor. The granite lintels above the mid-20th century door on the right and the mid-20th century windows are notable features. There is also a large mid-20th century dormer on the outshut to the left. The interior has not been inspected. Garrison Cottage is included for its group value as part of the significant collection of buildings surrounding Star Castle.
