Description

Treveal Cottage is a house with an adjoining cottage or former shippon, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof, which has a dressed granite stack over the left gable end and another over the cross party wall towards the right. The building has a two-room layout with a central lobby entrance and the later cottage or shippon attached on the right.

The exterior is two storeys high, presenting a three-window front to the southeast. The house on the left has a nearly symmetrical two-window arrangement with an approximately central doorway, while the cottage on the right has one window and a doorway to the left, with a window above. The house features a late 19th-century four-panel door and porch, 20th-century 16-pane horned sash windows at the ground floor, and a 20th-century two-pane casement window on the first floor. The cottage has an old nine-pane fixed light window on the ground floor and a late 19th-century four-pane sash window on the first floor.

The interior has not been inspected. Treveal Cottage is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
