Description

This is a house, built in the early 19th century, located on The Parade in Hugh Town. It comprises two properties, Wingletang and Trevessa, situated adjacent to each other.

Wingletang is a symmetrical three-window-wide house of two storeys. It has front canted bay windows on the ground floor, each with a central 10/10-pane sash window and smaller 2/2-pane return windows. The first floor has three 6/6-pane sash windows. Dormers with slate-hung cheeks and 6/6-pane sashes are present on the roof. The front door, an early 19th-century six-panel design (with four glazed panels), is set under a fanlight featuring radiating glazing bars and a semi-circular arch with voussoirs.

Trevessa, to the west of Wingletang, is a two-window-wide house of two storeys with simple lintels above the ground floor 10/10-pane sash window and 6/6-pane sashes on the first floor. A one-storey service range to the rear of Trevessa was raised in the mid-20th century. The interior features moulded cornices, panelled doors, and shutters. Trevessa was individually listed on 12th February 1975.
