Description

Lyonnesse is an early 19th-century house on the south side of Lower Strand, Hugh Town. It is constructed of coursed granite rubble, with a rendered and painted facade, and has a parapeted slate roof and rendered end stacks. The house is arranged with a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high, with a three-window arrangement on the first floor. The parapet features angle pilasters. The windows are late 19th-century horned 2-pane sashes, except for small plate-glass sashes on the second floor. A plain Doric pilaster doorcase with entablature frames a four-panelled door, with the two lower panels glazed, located to the right of the centre of the facade. The interior includes a half-glazed inner porch door, panelled doors, and a stick-baluster staircase.
