Description

Uploaders Place is a house built around the 1820s, with alterations made in the late 20th century. The exterior is finished in stucco and features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a tiled ridge and hips, supported by paired brackets under the deep eaves. There are rendered stacks on the sides of the building. The layout includes the principal rooms on the east garden front, with the entrance and stair hall located at the rear to the west. The service wing is an older structure at the back, primarily occupied by Uploders House, which is not included in this listing.

The house is designed in a Regency style and stands two storeys high. The symmetrical east front has three windows, featuring 2-light casements with margin glazing bars set in shallow segmental-headed recesses. The ground floor windows have low cills. A reconstructed verandah with a tent-shaped glazed canopy extends across the front and around the sides. On the south side, there is a large round-headed stair window with margin panes and radiating glazing bars. A single-storey wing on the north side has been raised to two storeys, and there is a short stone wing at the rear adjoining Uploders House.

Inside, much of the original joinery has been preserved, including reeded door architraves and panelled doors, reeded window architraves and panelled shutters, as well as a fine cantilevered staircase with stick balusters and a moulded mahogany handrail.
