Description

Minster View is an attached house from the mid-18th century, featuring a red brick facade in Flemish bond on a stone plinth, with stone gable walls. The design includes three courses of alternating burnt headers that create a plat-band effect between the ground floor and first floor, along with a dogtooth brick eaves-cornice. The roof is made of plain tiles and stone slates, with stone gable-copings and brick stacks at both gables topped with moulded details. The house has two storeys and dormers, with three sash windows that include glazing bars, the one above the front door being narrower. The windows have whitewashed lintels with projecting dropped keys, while the three dormers are from the 20th century and feature two-light metal casements with hipped tile roofs and tile cheeks. The front door, located at the centre, is wooden with six fielded panels and has a rectangular fanlight above with intersecting glazing bars. A flat wood canopy with a dentil cornice and scroll wooden brackets provides shelter over the door. The interior includes window shutters and a three-light casement at the rear with leaded lights. Additionally, there is a stone-fronted addition on the left side, which has an attic, one window, and one dormer, with concrete lintels and a wooden flush-panelled door featuring two top lights.
