Description
Knowle Cottage, built in the mid-19th century, features stone walls that are rendered and washed, with a slate roof and gable ends. The cottage has two storeys and two windows, which are three-light casements with glazing bars and old glass. The front door is centrally located, made of wood, and is flush-panelled with two lights, dating from the 19th century.
To the right of the cottage are the attached gate-piers, also from the 19th century. These consist of two square stone gate-piers, each with tall fielded panels on every face and hollowed cornices. They are topped with squared ball finials on cavetto spurs. Curving stone walls extend from each gate-pier for 15 feet on either side. The listing does not include the 19th-century house of the same name located at the rear.
