Description

Clifford Hall Cottage is a cottage dating back to the 18th century, with earlier origins in the 17th century, and altered in the 20th century. It is built of rendered stone with painted dressings, a slate roof, and brick gable-end ridge stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows are distributed unevenly across the facades. The entrance, located to the left of centre, has a simple surround and a 20th-century glazed door. On the ground floor, to the left and right of the entrance, are two two-light windows with flat faces and sashes. The upper floor has two single-light windows with 16-pane sashes, and a small single-light window with a 20th-century casement to the left of centre. A small stair window with a 20th-century casement is situated between the floors and to the right of the entrance. At the rear, remnants of two 17th-century two-light windows with chamfered mullions are visible on the right-hand side of the ground and upper floors; the upper floor window has a hoodmould.
