Description

Hill House is a house, originally one dwelling, now divided into a house and two flats. The core of the building dates to the 18th century, with an extension added in the early 19th century, and later alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of stucco with painted stone dressings, and has a stone slate roof.

The right-hand side of the house is two storeys high and has three bays. The right-hand entrance has a plain surround with an imitation keystone above the lintel. The door is a six-panel design, with the top four panels glazed. The ground floor and upper floor windows have plain surrounds and eight-pane sashes. The left-hand extension has a right-hand entrance with a moulded surround and 1930s margin lights. It features two-leaved shutters in the reveal and a three-quarter-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight incorporating diamond glazing. The ground floor and upper floor windows of this extension are large, with plain surrounds and 12-pane sashes, except for the left-hand ground floor window, which is blocked. The facade features quoins. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. Gable end and central ridge stacks are present.
