Description

Lynch Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage with an attached outbuilding, likely dating from the 18th century. The cottage has rubble stone walls, a stone slate roof, and brick end stacks. It is two storeys high, with a ledged door sheltered by a simple hood supported on brackets. On the ground floor, there are two casement windows; one has a central horizontal bar, and the other has glazing bars. The first floor has three casement windows with glazing bars. A rear lean-to addition is built of matching materials. To the left of the cottage is an attached outbuilding with rubble stone walls, a stone slate roof, and a brick stack on the ridge. This building has a ledged door at the right end, two loft doors set within pent-roofed dormers, and is accessed by stone steps. A small extension is situated at the outbuilding's left end, featuring a brick stack at the rear. The outbuilding is noted as being in rather poor repair. The outbuilding was described in historical records as a brewhouse and bakehouse.
