Description

Lynch Farm House is a house that was originally a farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It was enlarged later in the 17th century and further altered and expanded to the west in the 19th century. The building features coursed rubble stone walls, with the left end section plastered. It has a stone slate roof with a coped gable on the front projection, and there are three stacks: one at the right end, one near the centre, and one plastered stack close to the right end.

The house is two storeys high, with a projecting block at the front that likely contains the stair and a probable garderobe. This projection has a splayed offset at the ground floor cill level and another at the first floor level. There is a small blocked opening at ground level in the left flank wall. The front wall of the projection features a stone mullioned window with casements that include a centre horizontal bar on the ground floor. To the right of the projection, there is a part-glazed panelled door. The ground floor also includes another stone mullioned window with casements featuring a centre horizontal bar, while the first floor has one casement with similar glazing. To the left of the projection, both the ground and first floors have two casements with glazing bars.

At the rear, there is a two-storey extension built in matching construction. Some windows in the rear wall of the main house still have lead lights. Inside, there are some exposed chamfered ceiling beams. The current stair in the projection appears to be from the 19th century but is offset. The space at the side likely served as the original garderobe.
