Description

This is a row of six houses, built in the early to mid-19th century. They are located on Ridgeway Hill in Weymouth, arranged in three stepped units that follow the incline of the hill, with the final unit set back and angled slightly. The houses are constructed from coursed Portland stone or rubble, with some parts rendered. They have brick stacks and slate roofs.

The houses are each three storeys high and feature 2:4:2 window arrangements with 3-light wooden casement windows, each featuring horizontal bars. Above the ground and first floor windows, a stopped drip course is present, running continuously over the central two windows of the middle unit. There are four brick gable stacks in total. Number 18 features a central plank door, as well as a small, late 20th-century lean-to addition to its left. The doors of numbers 14 and 16 are adjacent and include a glass panel, with a glass lean-to porch over number 16. Number 12, the set-back unit to the right, has a more recent lean-to across the front, including a 3-light window and a door. The return gables are rendered, and a lean-to addition extends across the backs of numbers 14 to 18. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
