Description
Hazel Farmhouse and The Cottage is a mid-19th century farmhouse and cottage combined in one range. The building features rubble-stone walls and a slate roof with boxed eaves and gable ends. There are brick stacks located at the left-hand gable, at the ridge to the right of center, and at the right-hand gable. The structure is two storeys high and has a total of six windows, which are three-light cast-iron casements with glazing bars throughout, set on wooden cills with stone voussoirs.
The front doors are positioned at the left center and right center; the left door is a flush panelled door with three top lights from the 19th century. There is a concreted porch with chamfered jambs and a keystone, dating from the 20th century. The right door is a plank door with one glass light, also from the 20th century. A 19th-century porch with a gabled canopy and strutted supports is present. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut with a catslide slate roof.
