Description

Lion Gate consists of two gate-piers dating from the late 17th century. They are made of Ham Hill stone and feature Portland stone lions. The piers are rusticated and have round-headed semicircular niches with ashlar-faced pedestals. Each pier is topped with a dentil cornice, and on the capstone of each pier stands a lion that supports a cartouche.
