Description

Greystones, located at No. 91 Newland, features a front that dates from the late 18th century to the early to mid 19th century. The building consists of one bay across two storeys and an attic, and it is adjacent to No. 89, maintaining the same plane. To the east, there are two window bays across three storeys, which are recessed. The front is finished in pebbledash, topped with a slate roof.

The western section includes a two-storey segmental bow with three-light sash windows, where moulded strips are present between the lights on the lower floor. There are also two segmental-headed dormers and one window bay on the east return. The recessed three-storey section features sash windows with flush frames and glazing bars. The doorway is notable for its attractive fanlight and peaked canopy supported by wrought iron brackets.

Surrounding the property is a low ashlar dwarf wall, with railings and a gate that have spear-headed finials. The standards of the railings are adorned with urn finials at intervals. Greystones is part of a group that includes No. 31 Newland, the east range of Sherborne House, the front and rear garden walls of Sherborne House, No. 41 The Manor House, three cottages next to The Manor House, two adjoining cottages, Nos. 57 to 93 (odd), and the north-east boundary wall to Newland Close.
