Description
The Old House, located at No 64 on the south side of Newland, has origins dating back to the 17th century. The front of the building was later extended outward, and it retains slots for plank and muntin panelling, as well as a fireplace. The structure is two storeys high with two windows. It features a plaintile roof that has been built out and curves at the verge. The front is colourwashed and rendered, with 19th-century sash windows that do not have glazing bars. To the left, there is a modern Georgian-style door with glazing bars, and a ledged door is situated before the passageway on the right. The Old House is part of a group that includes Nos 60 to 68 (even) and Nos 2 to 4 (consecutive), along with a wall and gate piers to the west of No 2 Newland Gardens.
