Description
Mainly Men is an attached house that is now used as shop premises. It dates from the 18th century, with some changes made in the 20th century. The building has stone walls that are rendered, featuring an exposed stone plinth. The roof is made of slate and has stone gable copings. On the left side, there is a tall renewed brick chimney stack, while a shorter stone and brick stack is located at the right-hand gable.
The building is two storeys high and has three windows, with canted bays on the left and right sides of the centre on both the ground and first floors. The shop front on the right side of the ground floor consists of four long glass panels separated by wooden columnar divisions. There is a wooden shop door on the right, which has two glass lights and dates from the 20th century. The front door, which is from the 18th century, is wooden, six-panelled, and features a fanlight above with glazing bars. The door is framed by architraves that have attempted triglyphs, and the reveals are panelled with a round head to the doorway.
