No. 22 East Chaldon is a detached cottage, likely from the 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. The cottage features stone walls with brick details and has a thatched roof with a brick chimney. It has a simple two-room layout and includes a single-storey thatched extension on the north side. The building is one storey with an attic. The main house has a ledged door, as does the extension. On the ground floor, there are two horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, while the attic features one dormer with a similar sash window. The main ground floor room includes a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and an exposed ceiling beam.
