Description
Forge Cottage and Hillside are a pair of attached cottages located on Dorchester Hill in Winterborne Whitechurch. Forge Cottage dates from the 17th century and is constructed of rendered cob, while Hillside is from the 18th century and built of brick. Both cottages feature thatched roofs with brick stacks in various locations. The buildings are part one and a half storeys and part two storeys high. Forge Cottage has mainly wrought iron casements with leaded lights, whereas Hillside has 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The entrance to Forge Cottage includes a part-glazed door, while Hillside has a fully glazed door. To the west of the cottages, there is an additional range in derelict condition.
