Description
Nos 11 and 12, including Church Knowle Stores, are a pair of estate cottages located in Church Knowle Village. They were built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The cottages feature rubble stone walls and hipped slate roofs, with a central brick stack. They are two storeys high.
No 11 has a part-glazed door set in a late 20th-century gabled porch, along with one casement window with glazing bars on each floor. No 12 has a late 20th-century door and a ground floor uPVC window with a lowered sill, as well as a casement window with glazing bars on the first floor. There is a lean-to addition on the west side, which serves as a shop and includes a ledged door and a shop window with glazing bars. These cottages are included for their group value, and while there are several similar pairs of cottages in the village street, Nos 11 and 12 are noted as the least altered.
