Description
Morden Mill is a detached water mill that is no longer in use. It dates from the 18th century and was enlarged in the 19th century. The building features brick walls with rounded ironstone quoins at the southeast corner, while the south wall is plastered. It has a slate roof with a coped gable on the south side, topped with a weather vane. The mill is two storeys high. The east elevation includes a stable door and one casement window with glazing bars on the ground floor, as well as a loft door and one top-hung window on the first floor. The original water wheel was replaced by a turbine in the late 19th century, but most of the machinery remains, including the hoist wheel on the south gable.
