Description
Whitefield Farm House is a detached house with origins in the 17th century, which was enlarged in the 18th century. It features brick walls with rubble stone at the bases and has a thatched roof with brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high and includes a single-storey lean-to on the south side with a slate roof, as well as a single-storey rear lean-to, also slated. A brick gabled porch with an elliptical arched opening leads to a panelled door. Both the ground and first floors have three casement windows with glazing bars. Some 18th-century oak windows with lead lights remain in the rear wall. Inside, the main ground floor rooms each have large open fireplaces with timber lintels; the fireplace at the north end also features timber jambs. There are some deep chamfered ceiling beams present.
