Description

Holditch Court Tower, located 50 metres south of Holditch Court Farmhouse, is a Grade I listed structure that represents the remains of a fortified manor. It dates back to the 15th century and features walls made of chert rubble, with stone string courses on the corner stair-turret. The tower has an open masonry shell and includes a projecting circular stair-turret at the southwest angle, which rises above the current wall heights. The external faces of the tower show many putlog-holes, and the line of a former spiral stair is visible on the inside face of the turret.
