Description

The Post Office and Shrubbery Cottage is an attached building dating from the late 18th century, with a datestone reset in a 20th-century extension at the rear of the Post Office, marked HG 1783. The structure features coursed rubblestone walls with dressed stone quoins and a thatched roof with a gable end at the south. There are 19th-century brick stacks located at the left gable and near the ridge on the right side. The building is two storeys high and has a total of five windows on the first floor.

The Post Office includes a square bay window on the left side of the ground floor, which has three panes by seven panes and a pentice thatched roof above it. The remaining windows are two-light wood casements with glazing bars, wooden cills, and wooden lintels. Shrubbery Cottage features two-light wood casements from the 18th and 20th centuries.

The Post Office has a front door located left of centre, which is a plank door with three vertical upper lights and a thatched canopy above. The door for Shrubbery Cottage is situated at the centre and is a plank-and-muntin door within a wooden frame, dating from the 19th century, also with a thatched canopy above. Inside the Post Office, there are slightly chamfered ceiling beams.
