Description

Wessex Cottage is a detached cottage, originally two dwellings, dating to the mid-18th century and significantly restored in the 20th century. The cottage is constructed of rubble stone walls, with extensive repointing and a buttress at the right corner. It has a thatched roof with gables at each end, and 20th-century brick stacks positioned on the ridge left of centre and on the right-hand gable. The cottage has one-and-a-half storeys and three windows, each fitted with 2 and 3 light wood casements featuring glazing-bars and wood sills, all dating to the 20th century. A 20th-century stone porch with a hipped thatched roof is located on the right side of the centre, and it contains a glazed front door, also from the 20th century.
