Description
Buttress Cottage is a detached cottage from the 18th century, featuring significant 20th-century changes, primarily in the original openings. The walls are made of random rubblestone, and it has a thatched roof that is gabled at both ends. There are 20th-century brick stacks on the left-hand gable and the inner right-hand gable. The cottage is 1½ storeys tall and has three windows, with an extension to the north made in the 20th century. The windows are three-light plastic casements with leaded lights and plastic cills, while there is a two-light window of the same type above the front door. The front door, located at the center, is a plank-and-muntin design, studded and fitted with strap-hinges from the 20th century. A thatch porch canopy supported by wooden posts shelters the entrance.
