Description
Number 60 and the Post Office is a cottage and post office dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a Collyweston stone slate roof with ashlar end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The central doorway has been converted into a window and is topped with a lintel that includes a flush keystone. To the right of the doorway is a 19th-century sash window, also beneath a similar lintel, while to the left is a two-light casement window under a cambered head. On the first floor, there are casement windows beneath similar heads, with a two-light window to the left and a three-light window to the right. The Post Office, likely converted from an outbuilding, projects to the right with its gable end facing the street. It is built of coursed rubble and has a Collyweston stone slate roof that has been raised. This section includes a two-light shuttered opening and a wall-tie end on the left flank. The gable end features a 20th-century door and shop windows beneath a massive timber lintel, with a six-pane sash window above, also with a cambered head.
