Description
No 76 on High Street is a house that originated in the 17th century and was altered and had its windows changed in the 19th century. It is built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a plain tile roof with coped gables and moulded stone end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high. The street-facing side has a three-window range, with a central doorway that has been replaced by a window. The windows are 6/6 sash windows with cills; the ground floor windows have slightly projecting keystones, while the first-floor windows are flush with the eaves. The current entrance is located within a 20th-century porch at the rear of the building. This house was once used as a post office, which was accessed through a now-blocked doorway in the right-hand end wall.
