Description
The Antique Shop is a building located on South Street, dating from around 1625, though it features a 19th-century front that may cover an older core. The structure has one storey and an attic, topped with a plaintile roof. The front is stuccoed and appears to have been extended from the original building. It has four windows on the first floor that rise partly into the roof space, each with gables above. On the ground floor, there is a shop front to the left, a door to the right of it, and further right, a vehicular entry with partly glazed doors. The Antique Shop is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 8 (consecutive), Duck House with its garden wall and railings, Gainsborough House with a dwarf wall, railings, and gate, an outbuilding to the south of Gainsborough House, gate piers to the Old Bidewell, Lodbourne Hall, and Ye Olde Cottage, which also includes garden walls and railings.
