Description
The dwarf wall, railings, and gate to Gainsborough House, located on the north-east side of South Street, date from 1625. The structure features a stone dwarf wall with ashlar coping and uprights topped with spear-headed finials. It includes two panelled standards and a gate at the south end. This installation is connected to the dwarf wall and railings of Duck House. Together with Nos 1 to 8 (consecutive) Duck House, Gainsborough House, the outbuilding to the south of Gainsborough House, the gate piers to the Old Bidewell, The Antique Shop, Lodbourne Hall, and Ye Olde Cottage, including their garden walls and railings, they form a group of historical significance.
