Description
The Nook and Tabard Cottage are a pair of two-story, two-window cottages built in the 17th or early 18th century, with later cement rendering to the front. They have plain tile roofs. The Nook, on the north side, features modern two-light casement windows. It has a doorway with an 18th-century style hood supported by shaped brackets, and a battened and rail studded door with a glazed panel. Tabard Cottage has a pair of gabled dormers. It has three-light casement windows with leaded glazing and old aches above and below. The cottage also features an early 19th-century doorcase with a moulded and fluted surround, angle roundels, and a cornice. The door is set within flush-panelled reveals and has a battened and nail-studded door. The cottages form a group with a garage building to the north and with buildings at The Old Mermaid, numbers 1 to 3, and premises occupied by Roy.
