Description

The crossbase located approximately 90 meters southeast of the Abbey Church in Milton Abbas is a Grade II listed structure. It is the remains of a former town market cross, likely dating back to the medieval period. The crossbase features an octagonal stone base with a socket for a shaft. This site is referenced in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments as Monument 20 in Dorset, Volume III.
