Description
West Hembury Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dated G B 1749, with 20th-century alterations. The building features coursed rubble stone walls and large stone quoins. It has a thatched roof with stone gable copings and scrolled kneelers, along with brick stacks at each gable and at the rear wing gable. The house is designed in a T-plan layout and has two storeys on the south elevation. There are four windows, which are three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars and no cills, along with one 20th-century three-light hardwood casement. The central door is a 20th-century metal door, and there is another 20th-century metal door in the rear angle. Additionally, there is a blocked oculus on the rear gable end.
