Description
Limekiln Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early 18th century. It features rubble-stone walls and clay-tile roofs, with stone slates at the eaves and stone gable-copings. The building has 19th and 20th century brick stacks at the gable ends and consists of parallel ranges over two storeys. The front has three windows with three-light wood mullions, wood casements, and horizontal glazing-bars, with a four-light window on the right side at ground level. The windows have segmental heads with stone voussoirs. The front door, which is off-centre to the left, is a flush-panelled design with two glazed lights from the 19th century. It is sheltered by a trellis wooden porch with a hipped slate roof, added in the 20th century. The rear wall features three-light 20th century wood casements and a central door. An attached barn with a loft is located at the east end, also built of rubble-stone with a clay-tile roof that has a quarter-hip. The barn has inverted garage doors and one plank door, along with a flight of steps leading to an upper level and a plank loft door.
