Description
The Weston Monument is a chest tomb located approximately 7 meters south of the north churchyard gate to the Church of All Saints in Weymouth. It commemorates William Willis Weston, who died in 1828. The tomb is made of Portland stone and features a low pyramidal ledger with a roll-moulded edge, supported by corner pilasters that have reeding and rosettes. It stands on a simple moulded base. Each face of the tomb, except for the north side, has raised inscription panels. The earliest legible interment date is 1828, which aligns well with the monument's style. This chest tomb is considered rare in a churchyard that primarily contains headstones.
