Description

The monument to William Winton, located about 3.5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, is a chest tomb dating from the mid-19th century. It is made of stone and features a doubly stepped stone base, with the bottom step that was formerly railed. The monument has a moulded plinth and cornice, and the fluted side panels project forward. The inscription panel includes a recessed border with concave corners adorned with fanned decoration. The north side of the monument is inscribed with the name William Winton, who died in 1854.
