Description
The Coach House is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. The building is double depth and has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, all set on a chamfered brick plinth. A plat band and a dentilled brick eaves cornice add to its architectural detail. There are plain brick pilasters at each end of the front elevation. The roof has a flat-topped gable on the left, which has brick coping and kneelers, and it is continuous with Interphil House on the right. A red and grey brick gable end stack is located to the left, along with a projecting rear brick stack.
The front facade has a regular arrangement of three windows, consisting of two tripartite sashes and a central twelve-pane sash, all with cambered heads and splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. The ground floor features two similar tripartite windows. The central door is made up of two flush panels and four fielded panels, topped with a rectangular fanlight that has radiating glazing bars. This door is set in a panelled recess, with an outer architrave that includes pilasters featuring narrow sunk panels, reeded at the top, along with a plain frieze and moulded cornice.
To the left, there is a single-storey section made of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, which was likely raised in height at a later date. This section has a dentilled brick eaves cornice, a flat-topped gable, a brick stack, and a rear through dormer with Gothick lights. The interior has not been inspected.
