Description

The Manor House is a detached house that was formerly a manor farmhouse, dating from around 1700. It has been extensively rebuilt and re-roofed, with some architectural details altered in the 1970s. The building features coursed, squared rubble walls and a thatched roof, arranged in an L-plan with an unusual diagonal wall joining the two ranges, which includes an original door position.

The house is two storeys high with attics. On the south range, the east wall has two 2-light mullion windows, a bull's eye window, a doorway, another bull's eye window, and two more 2-light mullion windows. Notable original features include the stone bull's eye windows that remain in place, the original door position, and a continuous label raised over the front door. The mullions have been altered with concrete in the 1970s, and the number of lights per window has changed significantly since a survey in 1968.

The east range contains two 4-light mullion windows with separate labels, while the eastern window retains only its original stonework. There is a doorway in the angle with a late 17th-century depressed arch head and a label above it, along with an original bull's eye window above this doorway. Both doorways have 20th-century two-leaf doors with vertical glass lights. The information is based on a survey from 1968 that is in the owner's possession.
